The results screen is the page you see most often after the test itself, so every kilobyte it loads gets loaded a lot.

Our own WPM chart

The per-second WPM chart used to come from a general-purpose charting library. It now draws itself as plain SVG with the same smooth WPM curve, raw WPM line, and average marker. The code needed to show results dropped from about 99 KB to 19.2 KB.

Faster image downloads

Pressing D, or the download button, turns your result into a PNG. The capture now uses a smaller, faster library: repeat captures dropped to as little as 54 ms, and the code it loads shrank from 208 KB to 156 KB (82 KB to 53 KB compressed). The image itself is effectively identical, and it now leaves out buttons, tooltips, and the sign-in banner so only your stats, chart, and branding end up in the picture.

Smaller downloads on desktop

Mobile-only drawers are now split out and loaded only on phones, so desktop visitors skip that code entirely.
