Type faster without pain: posture and ergonomics basics

Speed means nothing if your wrists give out. Chair height, wrist angle, and break habits that keep you typing for years.

Typestrix Team

Typing injuries come from hours of small strain, not single bad sessions. Three adjustments remove most of it: neutral wrists, supported elbows, and regular breaks.

Wrists float, never rest

Resting wrists on a desk edge while typing bends them upward and compresses the carpal tunnel. Float your hands above the keyboard and let fingers arc down onto keys.

Screen at eye level

Looking down at a laptop for hours rounds your shoulders and tightens your forearms, which slows fingers. Raise the screen so your gaze is level, a stack of books works fine.

The 25-5 rule

Every 25 minutes, shake out your hands for five. Make a fist, spread fingers wide, rotate wrists. Two minutes of this beats any ergonomic gadget.
